We ask our Vila Liva visitors for respect and attention regarding the points below:
Toilet
The sewage system in Greece and on Samos is different to that in the Netherlands, among other countries. Do not flush toilet paper or other items down the toilet! This causes unpleasant blockages, high repair costs, and most importantly, a messy situation. Therefore, always use the provided bin for used toilet paper.
Intention
Vila Liva is built on love, trust, and happiness; we hope that during their stay our guests can experience and retain this.
Wildlife
Because of the rich wildlife on Samos, hygiene is really important. Keep the villa clean, do not leave wet swimwear, wet towels or bath mats lying around on the floor, and dispose of rubbish in good time; this prevents little unwanted friends such as scorpions, camel spiders, small snakes, etc. Together with our local friends, we ensure that the villa is clean upon arrival.

Leave outside
Animals are not permitted in the Vila; please also keep (stray) animals outside due to allergies.

The nature of Samos
Around Vila Liva, you'll enjoy rich and varied wildlife. The wild nature of Samos is unique, and that's precisely what makes the island so special. With a few simple habits, you can live harmoniously with your remarkable neighbours.
Snakes and scorpions
They are as skittish as you are. Snakes almost always flee when encountered. Do be mindful of where you tread, especially in long grass or among loose stones.
Check shoes
Scorpions seek out cool, dark spots. Always shake out your shoes before putting them on and don't leave anything lying on the floor. Hang the bath mat over the rail of the shower screen after use.
Jackal's neck
The golden jackal is a true Samos native. You can sometimes hear them howling in the evening, a peculiar sound. They are shy and completely harmless, but keep them wild: never feed them.
Waste and food
Do not leave food or open rubbish bags outside. This will attract unwanted visitors.
Doors and screens
Keep screens and doors closed in the evening to keep insects and creepy crawlies out.
